(Splice, Loopmasters, Black Octopus) at The Cell Studio in LA, CORROSIVE MACHINES is all about, as Colin puts it, “heavily combative beats.” Based on what’s happening here, we can run with that. Let’s break it down: six folders hold a total of 105 loops and 35 one-shots. The drum loops are stark and brutal, with roots in breakbeat and industrial forms; producer Colin C brings smart, subtle, and real VCF action that’s never too blaring, obnoxious or tasteless, making these beats nuanced and highly layerable for producers who want full control over dynamic builds, transitions, modulations and movements. The drum one shots are varied enough to complement every different feel in the library and include pulverizing kicks, snares, toms, and metallic objects.
